This property was once a luxury time share, I heard, and one can still see that: the size of the rooms (I had a 1 bedroom apartment, with balconies on the two sides (street and pool) of the building, the marble tiles in the bathroom, full size kitchen, etc, They still have 5 o'clock activities, as cheese tasting, karaoke, live music. The restaurant is good and not expensive. Happy hour two times/day. The staff was efficient, very polite, and in my case, went beyond their duty when I needed them. The pool, very clean, is a gathering and make friends place.
There is a bus from Philipsburg, but a car is a must if you want to explore. I like Marigot (15 minute by car) more than Philipsburg, Grand Case (beach, restaurants) is about 30 minutes by car.
On my last day, I discovered the beach at the Friar's bay; small, golden sand, sheltered from wind and rough seas. The beach is serviced by 3 bars/restaurants, and renting the beach chairs is the cheapest in St. Martin.
Do not go to St. Barth, there is nothing to see. Half of the people on the ferry were sea-sick.
Anguilla is worth seeing, beautiful beaches. You can go by ferry, but if you only want to see some beaches, better take a catamaran tour. The ferry comes very expensive, there are many landing/leaving taxes (Anguilla is another country)
