I had a good stay because I like the Tru/Hilton brand. I have stayed here several times & at the Tru in Mt. Pleasant. I like to book Tru by Hilton because I know what to expect & the brand usually delivers. NOT THIS TIME. What about the "Good" stay? It WAS good. The Jeff Dunham show was very good; good restaurant recommendation; bed was very comfortable; & the coffee & breakfast offerings were wonderful! But in the past year, I have noticed a decline here. This location & the Mt. Pleasant have the same lay-out, furnishings, & business model. So, what's wrong? I have managed resorts in Myrtle Beach for 40 years. This hotel was fresh, clean, & new even last year. This year the "shine" isn't there. 1st & foremost, I cannot believe that Duane at LLR is allowing you to operate with just THAT 1 elevator & that the other has been out of service for at least 3 weeks according to residents we spoke with & the 1 remaining elevator has something seriously wrong with it as it exhibits one of the most horrific shudders & screams from its belly. There was no indication of who services that elevator other than a name I've never heard of on the Elevator Certificate. In Room: marks on walls (in elevator too); the toilet rocked; the toilet seat slid side to side; the caulk along shower door is yellow & looks mildewed; "something" had sprayed up on the headboard & wasn't cleaned off; BIG prob was the Heat/AC when we arrived. Desk clerk said they had overbooked & it was a problem.
