Retro and kinda cool but oddly complicated
The physical room was kinda cool with a modernist vibe but the keyless doors were annoying as it almost always took more than one attempt to key in the code. Figuring out how to get into the hotel upon arrival is a challenge. I’ll try not to spoil the adventure for you but you’ll see the Cole sign and then just a restaraunt with no apparent access to the facility. The parking area is in the rear of the hotel but you can’t access the place from there either unless you have your door code. Theres only one parking space in the front which is not obvious when you drive by trying to figure out where the the front door is located. Prior to arrival, you’ll receive a barrage of emails and texts which will attempt to get you to fill out a lengthy electronic check-in, including a scan of your ID and info about all people staying in the room… if it works. If you can’t or choose not to complete it, you will need to find the guy onsite… who isn’t there after hours.
Oh, and the floors are thin. If you’re on the ground floor, be aware you will get to hear every noise from upstairs. The hotel knows this because there is a white noise machine in the room along with ear plugs.
All in all, if was not a very comfortable stay and the fact that we had to endure the all night noise from upstairs made it downright unpleasant at times. Would I stay there again? Unlikely.
