Our recent stay at the TownePlace Suites Bend Near Mt. Bachelor left us with two experiences: fantastic staff and amenities, but a room that's seen better days.
On the bright side, the hotel's amenities and personnel were outstanding. The pool and hot tub were a wonderful treat after a long day, and it was great that the AC unit actually made our room genuinely cold. But the real standout of our trip was the staff. The breakfast staff, the cleaning team, and the general staff were all lovely and incredibly friendly, making us feel welcome throughout our stay.
The location is also great for families looking to be active, and the room size and amenities were perfect for our family of three visiting Bend for a show at the Hayden Amphitheater.
However, the room itself needed some love and updates. While it was clean overall, there were many signs of wear and tear that were hard to ignore. The carpet was in rough shape, torn, threadbare, dirty, and with noticeable holes. We also found a number of dings in the paint, small dents in the walls, and some broken outlet covers. A few lights in the room also didn't work. These were mainly cosmetic issues, but they did detract from the overall comfort of the room.
TownePlace Suites Bend is a great choice if you value excellent service and amenities over a pristine room. The staff truly made our trip, but a little investment in updating the rooms would go a long way.
