Basic place, but several avoidable problems.
Bear Inn is exactly what it is: a very basic inn. It was clean, and if you’re simply looking for a place to sleep, it serves its purpose.
Unfortunately, we had a clogged toilet before we even used it. We arrived after hours after a long day of traveling and really needed to use the restroom, only to find it unusable. That made for a very frustrating first impression.
Another issue was the check-in process. Guests completed the online check-in, received their room codes, and signed the required waiver, yet some were still locked out of their rooms because they were expected to check in again in person. If an in-person check-in is still required, the online process doesn’t seem to accomplish much and only creates confusion.
We only stayed here because it was one of the few reasonably priced options during a busy event weekend, although the rates were still much higher than what you’d normally expect for such a basic property.
Overall, it’s clean and adequate for one night, but don’t expect much beyond the basics, and there is definitely room to improve the guest experience.
