There was overflowing garbage cans. Breakfast was meh. Carpeting in our room was old. This place could use some upgrades, but then they would have to raise the price. There is a heated pool. The website does not state this. Pets are allowed for a fee.

Getting a lot for the price
This hotel offers a lot for the low price. Pool, breakfast, gym, excellent beds worthy of. 4 star place, quiet stay and good security. These things matter most to me; I do not care for the latest trends in interior decorating. For some this could be an issue. Things are not new but clean. Some reviews complain about “micromanaging” but a family business needs to run a tight ship to prevent losses and ensure security. In fact, the way it’s run made us feel very safe ( and misbehaving guests are often a real concern in low budget hotels). We will be back in spring.

We stayed here for one night due to a wedding and for the price, we were very satisfied. This hotel is a bit run down, but the area is safe, the beds are comfortable, and our room was clean. I recommend this hotel for anyone that is planning for a quick stop in St. Charles or wants to stay on a budget!
