The Exeter exceeded our expectations . They preserved the charm, history and elegance of the property while still providing the amenities needed. We enjoyed just looking around the property and learning about the history. Breakfast provided was good.

If you like beautiful, old, elegant hotels this is the place for you. Great, big wooden, bar that also serves as the breakfast bar. Breakfast was good with the usual fare. It was clean and updated with a little character here and there. Very close to the village and ample parking during the week. Our room was small but fine for a short stay.

We really loved staying here and rated at five stars it is not posh and it does have a little tiny bit of wear and tear but it's so beautiful and clean and New England charming that you don't even notice it they are in the process of remodeling after being bought by another company and it looks as though they're going to try to keep the charm of the place according to the pictures in the lobby, staff was helpful and very nice we were greeted with a glass of champagne or sparkling water and our room was cozy and comfortable. We will absolutely stay here again we spent three nights and it was safe and partially walkable . It's a beautiful older property and well loved and taking care of.

The Exeter Inn is my "go to" when I'm heading to the NH beaches. It is a quiet and unassuming place that is close to everything yet feels remote. The staff is kind and extremely helpful and the value is excellent. I believe they are undergoing a renovation that will help them make it even more pleasant for guests. Highly recommend!

Basic breakfast, helpful staff, nice old property, very clean. The location is great--just a short walk into town. Our room was musty due to old, moldy AC. We had to turn it off.

Enjoyed our one night there, very comfortable room, easy walking into town for dinner, and great breakfast in the morning. Hope they will fix the front steps soon as they seem a little dangerous!

This was a lovely inn with comfortable beds, clean rooms and plenty of parking. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant had a solid selection of dishes and after a long flight and a drive through heavy traffic it was great to be able to eat on site. We would stay here again.

The property exceeded my expectations. Interesting, historic building (though about to under go a big renovation) in a lovely, lively, little town. Rooms were clean, simply but nicely furnished, and comfortable. Bathroom was up to date and clean. Staff were super helpful. Overall very good value.
