The price was SO good and the overall reviews so positive BUT it wasn't good. They lost our reservation, then knocked on our door early in the morning on the first day saying we had to leave, even though we clearly had a 2 night stay and had already paid cash. The rooms are probably "normal" by South American standards, but by North American standards fall far below. The room was tidy, but somehow still unclean. The smell from the bathroom was unbearable. The mattresses were foam, the linens were rough and scratchy.
It appears this is more of a hostal or even apartment complex than a true hotel - probably a great place for locals.
But again - for the price (we paid US$50 for two nights) it wasn't the worst place. But I wouldn't do it again.
The breakfast was pretty typical for South America - bread and sandwiches, but again not what a North American would expect for breakfast.
Our room was on the ground floor and right next to the "lobby" where we could hear the TV, radio, and other guests most of the night.
One plus was the water pressure in the shower - very strong and very warm water. BUT - the shower head literally sprays right into the whole bathroom; no tub or shower area, the water just sprays into bathroom. So you have to be careful where you put your towel and clothes because everything will get soaked.
Recap - not what most North Americans would expect from a hotel room.
