Exceptionally well maintained property.Very quirky theme throughout but done with thought..Room very comfortable ,very clean,very well decorated.Loved the breakfast hamper ,good selection of choices.The hosts were very nice and obviously worked hard keeping an old building to a high standard. We visited the Lakes District for a 4 day vacation and came across this delightful boutique bed and breakfast lodge. We were absolutely delighted with our stay and thoroughly enjoyed it. The room, and the rest of the lodge, were tastefully decorated and cosy. The breakfast was excellent, being continental in style, but very large. The location is excellent, within walking distance of the main part of Bowness-on-Windermere, with multiple cafes and easy walking access to the pier. Parking is available, which is important since parking is at a premium around Bowness. Importantly, the Dales Walking track is also easily accessible and can take you to a number of outstanding lookouts over Lake Windermere and surrounds. Highly recommend this lodge for a comfortable and cosy stay.

Little gem

Had a lovely overnight stay here. The room was absolutely beautiful with a very comfy bed. There was lots of nice touches in the room from freshly baked biscuits, DVD's & bath robes. On site parking and the most amazing choice of breakfast all served in your room. We will definitely stay here again as it was so close to everything in windermere. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Fantastic family run business

Overnight stay in the lakes with my dog. Couldn’t fault the service and friendliness of the family owned Puddle Duck Lodge. They do everything to make you feel welcome and even provided a welcome pack for my dog. I would definitely recommend and would stay again.

Just returned from a couple nights at the Puddle Duck Lodge, in the single room. Lovely place, all around. Spotlessly clean, in perfect area to explore Bowness/Windermere. Owners were pleasant and accessible, without being overbearing. The breakfast was fantastic, and the parking was easy to get in and out of. Probably the best guest house experience I've had in the UK.
