I recently stayed at Hotel Parisianer and unfortunately the experience did not meet expectations.
As a Hotels.com VIP member, I was informer by a email from hotels.com that I was entitled to a upgrade subject to availability. However, after nearly two hours speaking with staff, I was told an upgrade was only possible for an additional €50 per night. This was disappointing, especially as rooms appeared available online at the time.
The room itself was not ideal. The layout was unusual and not square, with the bed positioned at an angle which made the space feel uncomfortable. There was a full length mirror, but it was blocked by the bed and side unit, with a wardrobe rail across it, making it unusable. The bathroom lighting was also very poor for getting ready and nearly impossible to do your make up.
Cleanliness was below standard. There was visible dust, the floor did not seem properly cleaned, and there were multiple flies in the room on arrival. The room also had a stale smell.
Soundproofing was a major issue. Noise travelled easily and we could clearly hear other guests
The only positives were the location and the fact the hotel has potential, which is why I am giving 2 stars rather than 1. I was also told by the staff that the hotel has no involvement with Hotels.com which added to the confusion and frustration around the upgrade situation.
Overall, I found the experience disappointing,
