The check-in information on Expedia is not accurate. On Expedia it states that there is a front desk - there is not! Five days before check-in, this place where I had a reservation sent me a link through Expedia stating that I had to pay a deposit. I called Expedia to verify this was safe, and they said it was. The link didn’t work. I called Expedia back and they were no help. I called the place where I had a reservation, and they stated that this was their check-in process and they would not give me any other details for the reservation unless I paid the deposit. I stated that I would pay a deposit once I arrived just like their check in information on the site says. I would have never booked this place if they had accurate check-in information on Expedia, as I would not be comfortable sending money and a picture of myself holding my ID to a place that couldn’t give accurate checkin details, or send a link that worked through Expedia. It was not worth the risk of going to another county and not having a place to stay or having my identity stolen, so I canceled the trip and am out the money I paid to book the reservation.
