"This was the best place I stayed on my recent Japan trip. If you're doing "The Hakone Loop", you might miss it, as if you catch the ship to Motohakone on Lake Ashi you will end up a while away. But! The staff here are lovely, the onsens are amazing, the dinner is phenomenal (and unbelievably huge), the rooms have a lovely atmosphere and are so comfortable, there's a bar with unlimited free drinks, and it's easily accessible via the Hakone Tozan Bus. It's right next to a convenience store too, if that's important to you. I'll remember my stay here for a long time!"
"The property was quiet and peaceful. We love the private onsen with the open windows facing the garden. The facility had everything you need as a home and complementary drinks and snacks were loaded. However, we couldn't pre-checkin on our phone and it was slow when we check-in on the tab in the room. The 7-eleven next door was convenient and there were lots of shops around the area, but they do seem to close early. There were great scenic spots close by. Overall, this is such a beautiful hotel."
"This is a unique property and a total throw back to another time (the main house is from the 1890s). The traditional kaiseki was impeccable, the breakfast was delicious, and the property is gorgeous. Added bonus: hot spring water is piped to your room bath! We had a wonderful weekend hiking and exploring the area (loved the Open Air Museum), and we have already talked about going back on our next trip to Japan. For those of you who know Mohonk in Upstate NY, Fujika evokes a similar vibe. Thank you to the staff! Highly recommend."
"Very kind, helpful staff. They will go over and beyond their responsibilities. Even though the free shuttle ends at 11:00 am, we were still brought to Gora Park/Gora Ststion at 12 noon. No hesitation. Their staff is top notch! That's what makes any hotel a superb place to stay. Of course the onsen was fantastic, beautiful and clean."
