"I stayed here nearly 50 years ago as a young man when it was the Westos , and I gotta say, it's way better now than it was.All good. free parking. Rooms very nice. Noise carries though, sobring some earplugs in case... Lotta familes using this... although I did stay on a friday night, so loads country folk would be using with families... walls are thin, so...."

"We travelled up from the country to pick up our family travelling from the USA. We spent the night at the Motel so they could get a good nights sleep, shower etc. It is perfectly located with easy access to the Freeway off Leech Highway and the Airport."

The hotel has large, comfortable rooms at a reasonable price and an outstanding location. It is near the pier and also walking distance to the train station. It is close to many outstanding restaurants in the area.
The residences were excellent value for money with full sized washing machines and dryer in the suite, a well appointed kitchen and good sized refrigerator. There was plenty of secure parking. On site conveniences included a hairdressing salon (who fixed my bad haircut), a pharmacy and a nearby grocery store. South Terrace is easily accessed by public transport.

Loved everything about the Alex, but as usual, it was the people that made the real difference... Cool and "hip", but unpretentious and very comfortable. Probably one of the best locations I've ever experienced in a hotel, with great restaurants one block away and great museums one block in the other direction. Will be back!
I enjoyed my stay here, I spent four nights at the hotel for a business trip. The essentials were all there, a good iron, ironing board, lots of outlets, good free wifi access. In addtion to that, I had a large bed, the room was quite large and spacious with a window looking out over a central area (not a courtyard in the attractive sense), I was on the 5th floor. The peekaboo bathroom had a window into the room, had both a jet tub and a separate shower, WC, and plenty of space. The shower...
Great hotel in a great location. Lovely staff. Breakfast was limited to yogurt and bread, but it was good. The room was roomy and well-appointed for the price.
The only issue with our stay is the cost of parking is way to o high. $30 a day is quite excessive and that is not even valet parking. I feel that this should be much less especially if you are staying multiple nights.
