Very impressed when I stepped through the doors of McKays hotel. It was lovely and warm and cosy with traditional festive decorations on display. Check in was good with the nice young lady booking my time in for breakfast too. She also asked if I was aware I had booked my room for the annexe opposite, I did know this, but she just wanted to make sure I was okay with this, nice touch.
When I entered the annexe I was bowled over on how beautiful it was. The property appears to have had a dramatic makeover the public areas were bright. freshly decorated and fitted with luxurious deep lush carpet.
My room although a tad on the small side was exquisite with quality furniture and fixtures. The bathroom blew me away and contained huge fluffy towels and expensive local toiletries.
Breakfast consisted of self service cereals, yoghurt, bread, pastries, hot and cold drinks. There was about 10 different hot options to suit all tastes, and it was so nice to be served this at your table. I choose the traditional scottish which consisted of top notch ingredients cooked to perfection, faultless, best haggis ever.
Property and staff were all amazing lot's of effort put in and it shows.
