If I could give this place a 0 I would. We booked for 14 nights due to a work trip. We ended up spending 1 night in this hotel and left. It was filthy, it was horrid and it was just not up to any standards of a hotel. It seemed like a half way house - disgusting. I have attached some photos. We requested a refund for the 14 days as we only did one day here and we weren't allowed a refund. Expedia wouldn't even refund us. We will not be using Expedia ever again. Do not allow your kids or family to stay here. Absolute dump. Needs knocking down and starting again.

Visit to Hartlepool

The hotel was good value for money . I had visited this hotel about 10 years and I remember having bed and breakfast ,a full English breakfast in the restaurant. However on my latest visit that all closed . In fact when I got to the door a notice gave me a telephone number to ring so as to.gain entry . It was however adaquate for my two day stay in the town.

In the middle of a badly needed refurb.

The hotel was halfway through a much needed refurbishment, however this meant duvets filled corridors, wet paint on multiple walls and there were still electrical fittings hanging off the walls (including, rather disconcertingly the shower fan switch dangling over the bath). That said, the room was a good size and the staff were friendly.

The hotel was filthy, stain on the pillow case, stained bedside furniture and table. There was an old dirty fridge with a half bottle of water inside. We left straight away. Looking for a refund frim Hotels.com

Get what you pay for

Overall I suppose you get what you pay for, check in ok involved phone call, room ok, next morning going to get showered, no towels, so tried hot tap on sink for wash no hot water, couldn't get TV to work but only minor problem wasn't sat in room long

Tiny room, small bed, no staff around, two of four light fittings broken, only extremely limited choice of TV (only two channels working), very hot room (no AC or fan), more like a hostel than a hotel - not a welcoming place...

I didn't want to post a negative review but this is several times that I've been chased up. For the price the place is fine but unfortunately the rooms aren't closed after cleaning. On entering the room the toilet was full and the flush wasn't working, not a great problem as a bucket nearby. Otherwise no problems.

Real life Faulty Towers

A very basic and poorly maintained hotel. Upon arrival 7pm(ish) I was greated with a locked front door and a note on it saying to call the main hotel phone number. A man answered and directed my attention to a key pad on the wall, to type in a code for access and directed to my room. My room was a fair size but very basic. The whole place needs a lot of TLC. Taps were loose, other fixtures and fittings broken. Spot mould on walls and ceiling in bathroom. Signs of water damage on the walls around the window. There wasn't even a spoon with the tea and coffee set. Stiring my tea with my car key had to do. I managed to trip both the sockets and lights breakers when attempting to turn on the towel rail. An hour wait for the breakers to turned back on wasn't great. Especially, when I was told someone would be there in around 15-20mins. And to top things off, I got woken by drunken couple, in a neighbouring room, arguing and slamming doors at around 1:15am, which went on till gone 3am. So, all I can say is stay well away

Not impressed - couldn't get in - stayed elsewhere

I ended up not staying! On arrival (after a long journey, feeling wet and tired), I spent half an hour standing outside the front door, constantly ringing the phone number on the piece of paper stuck to the door! There was never any answer, and no answer machine, and I could hear the phone ringing inside the hotel, but could see no one. Eventually, a resident at the hotel kindly let me in the front door, and suggested I ring the emergency number, which was displayed on a wall inside. Again, there was no answer, and I left a message on the answer service. I also rang the contact number for the hotel given by hotels.com but again there was no answer, and I left a message. Just as I was about to leave, a cleaner turned up and kindly booked me in and took me to my room. The heating was not on so she said she would turn it on. By this point, I was late for a meeting, so had to leave quickly. I returned later in the evening to find the heating was not on, and knowing it would be impossible to find anyone to sort it out, as well as feeling very uncomfortable and unwelcome in the hotel, I decided to leave and stay elsewhere. If they are going to have a system where you are going to have a phone number on the door to come in, they need to make sure the number works. The cleaner knew that the phone wasn't diverting to the correct number, so why wasn't an alternative number given? Not impressed. Waste of money.

Simply Awful Beyond Description

The Hotel was run down. The mattress on my bed was so worn out I could feel the slats of the frame under me. One of the towels was ripped almost in half and yet still was considered acceptable to place in a guests room. Check in was self service which did work but meant there was no one on site at all. A guest got beaten up by some youths that managed to get into the hotel and the whole hotel was woken up by the alarms and the arrival of five (yes 5) police cars and an ambulance. The picture of the dining room might have been the case a number of years ago but both the dining room and the bar were locked up and stacked full of tables and chairs and not accessible to guests. All in all one of, if not the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. My colleagues all had similar experiences. When we got home I had a jocular comment from one of them saying "I have just incinerated all the clothing I worse at the hotel" that should give you a clear idea of our stay. Not run by a professional organisation instead run into the ground for profit. I should have realised there was going to be issues when the first thing that happened was that whilst I had gone for a listing that was "Pay At The Property" I had deposits taken with no warning for each of the five rooms. Then full payment was taken several days before the stay....again with NO WARNING. I would not recommend and would actually forcefully say STAY AWAY. Happy to prove all this if needed...pics were taken

This dump should be shut down

Upon arrival I had to ring a number stuck on the door to get the code to get in and told my room number. No reception, no staff in the building. The whole place stunk of weed and stale smoke. Absolutely filthy, not been cleaned in years. No toilet roll in my room and when I finally got through to someone on the phone I was told someone would bring some at 5pm this was at 2.30. I'd say you get what you pay for but the state of the place I feel I should have been paid to stay there. Bed was really lumpy and the pillows was as thin as paper and was filthy. People banging about all night. One of the windows in my room was missing the handle so couldn't close it. No heating or hot water.

Arrived 30min before check-in deadline; was stood at door for 10min trying phone no on door, phone no I'd previously been sent an entry code from, & ringing 'Ring' doorbell, before a (not particularly friendly) answer... Was panicking that I'd be roomless for the night. (Had had a previous poor stay but was desperate for somewhere convenient/cheap due to partner being kept in hospital.) And was almost out of phone charge! On approach to room (& spotting a discarded mug in the hallway that had been since morning) I was hit by smell of cigarette smoke, then a man (smoker) came in from fire escape adjacent to my room. There was a bundle of dirty bed linen on the hallway floor to the other side of my door. Within my room: *No TV remote - TV unusable without (buttons on unit wouldn't access the menus sufficiently) *I realised I would have to watch TV on my (lacking charge) phone, then realised there was only 1 power socket near the 'desk' - far from bed - but no seat so had to stand & hold it *took a while to realise I was overlooked by the 'smokers balcony', so quickly pulled blind *noticed something (underwear?) stuffed in the ceiling light, so had to keep it off to avoid fire risk (understand the staff unlikely to notice if a guest had done this) *The smell of cigarette smoke wafting in to the room was unbearable, then I realised the windows had been left open, closing the windows was a challenge reaching past desk and blind doesn't go back up *Floors not vacuumed/swept/mopped

Wasn't obvious where to enter the building. Wasn't made clear that there would be no-one to greet. Upon calling number on the door, the greeting still wasn't friendly. On opening the bedroom.door, first impression was good - tidy, and additional heater (previous accommodation elsewhere was cold!). During my stay, more and more details became apparent and uncomfortable: *Only half a toilet roll, without a holder (so had been previously handled by user(s)), *Only one mug although the room was booked for two people *Barely any coffee (although plenty of tea) *kettle was half-full of water (don't know how old) *carpet had clearly not been vacuumed *Upon getting in to bed (a rather lumpy one), I noticed the bedding smelt badly of mens BO (possibly the quilt, thru to cover, but it was strong) *The single bed (although not booked) had slept-in bedding on *No mention of WiFi anywhere

NOT passable. Worst hotel I've stayed in.

Please avoid unless you are absolutley desperate and then only use for 1 night. There is no reception - you have to ring the owner on his number and he will have left key in door for you There is parking over the road in a Clinic car park but its Council run so you need lots of change (reasonably priced) but you will be up at 8 every morning to pay for until you leave. At least passed 1800hrs is free until 08am. Short of pillows, blankets and towels until met up with service lady next AM No heating - she had to get filthy electric heater Black mould Stains of unknown origin everywhere - carpet, ceilings, walls, window blind even inside the picture hanging on the wall. No breakfast or bar but wouldn't eat or drink here anyway - "bar" area smells mouldy Stinks of skunk and cig. smoke breaking fire laws Taps in B/room sink broken and loose The OOHs mobile number given not answered and Owner doesnt answer phone. The maids are freindly but are not given list of whos who so will knock you up each morning to see if you are leaving before 1030. No power to room and no hot water from 10am on last morning. Maid said its not cut off prior to check out so must've been a power cut. Could not shower. Ablutions in the dark on last morning. The only 3 positives were TV working (back missing off remote tho') the Bed was comfy and the shower water was hot when working.
