Loved our stay. Clean, spacious and a quiet place to rest after a long day at a volleyball tournament. Walkable to close by restaurants. Will definitely be back if we’re in Pittsburgh again!

Great location. We could walk everywhere. Front desk employees when we checked in were great! Suite was spacious and clean. The only issue we had was the television. It wasn’t working and we reported it to the front desk but no one ever came up to fix it. Otherwise we would go back.

Overall a really nice stay. However, the bed was too firm for me as I am a side sleeper. I ended up with hip and leg pain (I'm a guy with average to narrow hips) because it didn't give at all! The room was large, well laid out and furnished, and overall clean (but our feet got dirty from the vinyl flooring which needs to be mopped more often). Front desk staff were great, but understaffed (had to wait 15 minutes for someone to get the front door open and then checked in). Jordan was exceptional! Great location and very attractive property!

This is a beautiful, historic building, with nicely redone rooms. Great location for exploring downtown and the strip, close to bus station. Staff super kind and responsive. Parking confusing on first go, but convenient after understood. Our room was next to the train tracks--I had no problem but husband heard them roll through throughout the night. We got a deal via hotels.com webpage, presumably because the floor we stayed on was being repainted and the halls thus covered in plastic. It's clear they heard complaints in earlier reviews, as our room came equipped with an extra floor aircon unit, though we didn't need it due to lovely weather.

What a perfect spot for my first trip to Pittsburgh! The property is centrally located so I was able to walk around the city with ease, checking out restaurants, shopping, PNC park, and more. The room I stayed in was facing some highways which did create noise, but I prefer a bit of noise when I sleep. If you need quiet, you may want to request a room that is facing downtown. The room itself was spacious, with huge windows which allowed for tons of natural light. They also appeared to be recently updated, so the walls were clean and the room felt new and fresh. There is onsite parking for a fee if you have a personal car or rental. The washer and dryer in the room was a nice extra treat! I will definitely choose Placemakr when returning to Pittsburgh.

Quite enjoyed our stay at The Placemkr. Our room was clean and comfortable, the valet parking was convenient & efficient, and the staff there and at reception were friendly and helpful. Blackout curtains would’ve helped, as we were across from the bus/train stations and there were only Venetian blinds to block out the light. Otherwise we quite enjoyed our stay. Also, great curb appeal!

As an Amtrak train traveler, the location is so convenient to train, bus, and local transportation. The building itself is a historic landmark related to the Pennsylvania Railroad. Be aware it’s a historic building which is probably the reason the A/C could not keep up with the hot and humid weather in Pittsburgh. The room was larger than I expected. Kitchenette was a plus, but I didn’t take full advantage since I only stayed one night. I would love to stay here again despite the A/C being loud and not as effective. The building is beautiful with lobby furnishings that give an homage to its railroading past. The Great Hall looks like a grand train station waiting area in the heyday of rail travel.

This property features beautiful historical architecture with newly renovated rooms. The building is a mix of apartments on the upper floors and hotel rooms on the lower floors. It’s a great venue if you prefer to cook your own food during your stay. If you want an amenity rich building including a bar and a restaurant, then this isn’t the place for you. There is very little staff present. The one bedroom apartment was stocked with everything that i needed, including toiletries, laundry detergent and softener, cooking and dish ware. It’s located a short distance from the Strip District and cultural area.
