After driving for a few hours across a 100˚afternoon landscape, we rolled up to this rather odd property in a unremarkable neighborhood at 5pm, the arrival time indicated on our reservation. Our arrival seemed unanticipated, though I had asked for instructions 24 hours ahead. There was no response to my email. On the day of our arrival, France was having an unprecedented heat wave. Our upstairs room had been left closed which meant the outdoor temp had risen indoors significantly. We were told this place was used mostly as an event venue. Understanding that, the unattractive entrance and clutter made more sense. Mostly, we were really hot and needed a cool, comfortable night’s sleep. Enough said. Here’s our lesson learned…always read carefully the details in the amenities section of the listing. Never assume there will be air-conditioned rooms unless it specifically says “air-conditioning”. Also, check what’s around you. This property and the neighborhood around it seemed void of necessary amenities. We booked a new hotel down the highway and enjoyed that cool, comfortable night. Based on our experience, we can’t recommend this property, but perhaps you’ll have a better experience at a different time of year.
