Small town values - in price and management
The primary reason I gave a four star rating instead of five: it's not the Palmer House, but I didn't need luxury for a weekender, just a good place to sleep, and that is what you get here in this nice Midwestern small town about an hour's drive from Green Bay and 90 minutes from Door County.
Very pleased with the management who were appreciative of my respectful behavior at the property. There are no room safes, but the front door is locked 24/7 with Ring doorbells and cams for solid security. Myself and several other guests were staying for a vintage car show weekender in nearby Symco, and the manager stayed up late to ensure everyone got in safely.
There is a limited free breakfast, and for a good and inexpensive hot meal, a nice coffee shop, The Living Room, is just a four block walk down Main Street. Not sure if it is still offered, but while there is no pool nor exercise room, your room key supposedly will let you use the facilities at the high school rec center for free in the daytime, but it will need a short drive.
So for a nice place to rest with security and Midwest small town friendliness at the property and surrounding area, I highly recommend the Landmark Motel.
