The initial contact on check in should have alerted us to what the overall experience would be. Check in staff unable to answer questions about our Accor membership. The corridor on level 15 smelt when the lift door opened. The room was dirty and uninviting. It smelt damp, there was a dehumidifier running which was confusing as we had not experienced this at any of 5 other accommodation places stayed at on our trip. The toilet had about a cm of mould growing between the cistern lid and the cistern which I had to clean. The skirting boards were dusty and the light switches, remote controls and other electrical appliances were dirty, the soap dispenser in the washing machine had not been cleaned and had caked on washing powder, the out door setting was old and needed to be resanded and resealed and the pool dirty and not cleaned once during our 3 night stay, we watched the layer of dirt on the bottom of the pool increase each day. The dining chairs in their restaurant were old and uncomfortable and the tables had not been cleaned.
When we reported the dirty toilet and dust issues the reception staff just gave us a card to contact the cleaning manager, they did not get the room recleaned. If it had not have been school holidays I would have moved hotels.
Overall our experience at the Mantra was very disappointing for the price we paid.
