If you want fine decorations and first class service then look elsewhere. If you want to stay in a historic palace whose grandeur still surprises you in the faded fresco ceilings and grand staircases, is located enviably close to Centrale Station, is right atop the famous Ballaro Market with is sights, smells, and sounds, is walkable to Palermo’s historic area, the Cathedral and the Theatre then this might just be for you. The rooms appear to take up two floors on one wing of the palace and entrance is from a quiet part of Via Maqueda. It’s easy to miss the entrance but contact with the hotel was excellent. Room was basic. But it was clean, the air conditioning was good and the facilities adequate. Breakfast was basic but again adequate and don’t miss the ceiling in the breakfast room! For the price paid, I would absolutely recommend and would use again if we come to Palermo again… which we certainly would love to do.

Good central location, comphy beds, quiet and staff (Ariful) were excellent, friendly and helpful. The air conditioning unit in the first room was not working properly and we had to move room. Also, shower drainage not built properly and whole bathroom gets completely soaked with water after the shower (and no additional drains to get rid of this water), which leaks into the bedroom.

Interesting location in a crumbling old palazzo. The entrance is a bit intimidating but the hotel inside is basic but fine. Friendly and good location. Cooking smells were a bit strong, and breakfast was very basic, but overall a good experience.

I am not sure who photo-shopped the photos for this property. This hotel needs to state that it is a budget hotel. The description should make it clear that you do not have a bathroom in your room. The bathroom is located across the hallway of our room and makes that difficult to use. The bathroom is private and is yours that you have a key for to use. It was also very difficult to get in contact with anyone to get us onto the property. This property felt more like staying in a hostil and not the type of hotel I would chose to stay. The property was clean and the staff were pleasant.

Very basic but clean and safe and comfortable without frills. Staff was friendly, breakfast was a nice bonus and the cool old royal palace was definitely interesting. Location is easy, perhaps be cautious at night but otherwise didn’t feel unsafe.
