Disappointing Anniversary Stay
We booked a Deluxe Ocean View Suite at Mantra Ettalong Beach to celebrate our anniversary, and even called ahead to confirm we’d have a beautiful ocean view on a higher floor. Unfortunately, our experience didn’t match what was promised or paid for. Arriving at reception, we were told that the room we were meant to have is no longer available. Appalling service!
The room we received was not deluxe, tired and dated, with two single beds pushed together instead of a king. The bathroom was disappointing, with mould in the shower and an old spa bath that was high and awkward to step into. Not a deluxe ocean view suite.
The “ocean view” was more of a pool view on a lower level, where we could clearly hear conversations from the pool area, which made it feel far from private or special. Definitely not a room suited for a celebration.
There was minimal acknowledgment of our anniversary, just drink vouchers for the club next door that didn’t cover basic drinks.
Had we got the room we were promised, I would have rated much better.
Overall, a disappointing stay that didn’t match the price or promises. We won’t stay here again.
