I was really looking forward to staying at Winery Hotel 1870, but sadly, I couldn’t make it because a close family member passed away unexpectedly just before my trip. It was a heartbreaking and chaotic time for my family, and I reached out to the hotel a bit later than planned to explain the situation.
While I completely understand that cancellation policies exist, I was hoping for a little understanding or flexibility given the circumstances — even a small gesture such as a partial refund, date change, or credit for a future stay. Unfortunately, the hotel responded strictly by policy without any compassion or empathy.
I’m sharing this experience not out of anger, but disappointment. Hospitality is about caring for people, especially when life takes unexpected turns. I truly hope the hotel can show more warmth and humanity in the future — that’s what makes a place truly memorable.
