We loaded our luggage on the luggage cart, only to learn afterwards that it had a flat tire. So we had to unload it onto a different luggage cart. As I passed the front desk, I told them the luggage cart in the vestibule had a flat tire, and they should either fix it or get it out of there so people don’t load it in vain. We checked out this morning and loaded our luggage on the same cart with the flat tire. Suggestion fellon deaf ears.
The phone in the room was not working, so we had to go down to the front desk to order more towels. They never delivered them. 90 minutes later we went down again to request them. They handed us the towels on the spot.
The kitchen staff forgot my simple order of hot milk. She came out after 10 minutes and it wasn’t hot. She brought it back to heat it and forgot. I waited and waited, until I finally walked over by the kitchen to inquire. The bartender was apologetic, and said “she got distracted.”
I had a scheduled call with colleagues at 7:30 PM. I tried getting on the Internet in my room from 7 o’clock, and all I got was an oops message. Finally, I went downstairs to the reception desk (because the phone in the room was still not working), and was told that there was no Internet for the rest of the day because the storm had come through, and there was a blackout. I had to do my Zoom call outside by the pool patio in the cold, because I had to run off of my cellular data.
Very surprised, disappointed for a Doubletree Hotel. Never again.
