"The experience was nostalgic and a fun difference from chain hotels. The rooms are old, but maintained just fine and we loved the quirky charm! It was nice to see a different side of Sedalia. We are here several times a year for horse shows and it was nice to stay at a more traditional place with character."

"The property was clean, neat and we had everything we needed. We chose this because it did not have amenities and we did not want them. We needed a place to sleep and shower. Had fridge & microwave. No coffee in room or pool or weight room. Room was quiet and had AC. Location was good. Was between a Burger King and a Wendy's, so there were places to eat. Gas station across the street. Good central location to other businesses. Didn't see any point in staying places much higher for things we don't use. Only probably was getting them to answer in the lobby. Needed extra roll of toilet tissue and towels. Both times just happened to see the cleaner and told her what we needed. Needs were met. Would stay again as reasonably priced."

"Our stay at the Hawthorne Inn was very pleasant. It was our first experience at a bed and breakfast and we were not disappointed… the room was charming and clean and the breakfast was delicious! The bathroom was small, but adequate. We enjoyed our stay😊"

"Clean and comfortable. Did have to drive on 2 miles of gravel. Loved being by the creek. Too hot for fire pit but very nice."
