Iceland Hotels

We loved staying here. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Our room had a great Mountain View. It’s one of the cutest hotels we’ve stayed in. I wish there was a drop box for keys, we left early in the morning but the lobby was locked so we couldn’t check out. We left our key in the room and called the hotel at 7 am to let them know. We had already prepaid so it wasn’t a big deal. Highly recommend this cute little getaway hotel.

Great place to stay. Great food, close to the airport, and in a quiet, scenic part of the country, away from the city.

Perfect stay - luxurious and comfortable

The only thing I did not like was the church bell across the street that rings every 15 minutes, but the hotel provides ear plugs. They were a great help.

I had the most enjoyable stay at Eyja Guldsmeden! A very clean hotel with excellent service! The breakfast was plentiful and delicious, and the location of the hotel is very convenient. Special thanks to Laura who was super nice and helpful with dining recommendations! Will be back!

I can't say enough about this wonderful hotel - our favorite in Iceland. We have traveled through Iceland for 9 days now and this has been, by far, the best hotel. Our room was beautiful, with a balcony overlooking the water. The hotel had a kind of museum in it that was interesting and not quite hokey. The staff was terrific, particularly the general manager - very friendly and willing to chat and answer our questions. Food was very good.

Located very close to night life and restaurants but still in a quiet area. Close to several pickup locations for shuttle buses and tour pick up locations.

Clean, cozy, beautiful, well located hotel! Above all, the hotel staff was super kind and helpful. They helped us immediately when we had issues finding the bus back to the airport, and solved our problem and our stress of missing our flight. For us that was service above expectations and we are so greatful. I will always recommend staying here!! Thank you!

Good restaurant. Hot tubs and sauna are a big plus.

Hotel Laxa is not only beautiful (kudos to the designer who make you feel like you are part of the volcanic landscape), its location serves as a great jumping off point for a day of taking in the sights around Myvatn. We arrived from Eglissadir, after stopping at the Mytvan Nature Baths on our way into town. After a fantastic breakfast of eggs, bacon, waffles and a buffet of fresh fruits and vegetables, we spent the next 6 hours taking in all that Myvatn had to offer. I would definitely return...

The hotel is conveniently located, tours pick up right outside the front door. The included breakfast was fabulous. Parking is included. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Staff were helpful. We will absolutely stay again next visit.

We enjoyed our short stay here. Breakfast and dinner was delicious (only breakfast was free). The rooms were clean, warm, and cozy. Lots of antiques throughout the building. Would definitely recommend to anyone traveling south of Iceland.

Our stay here was very good. Great breakfast. No real issues but be aware the Expedia listing says black sand beach is a 1 minute walk but was actually a 10-15 minute drive.

We stayed our first night at Hotel Selfoss. It is located facing the river, which was a great view to wake up to. The continental breakfast was great! Dining in the restaurant looking at the river was a perfect way to start the morning. The hotel has a modern and stylish feel to it.
