Having spent a week here I grew to appreciate all the little things that added to the comfort of my stay. Family owned and run, the level of service was both personal and top shelf. I have traveled the world and don't stop to spend time reviewing one corporate run hotel over another but here I am happy to spread the good word for this lovely family and boutique hotel. Classic colonial hotel steps to the historic district, we regretted leaving.

We thought this hotel was very charming and comfortable. It had a great deal of character, and the staff was very kind and helpful. It was easy to walk around the city from this location or get a taxi. As we were leaving, there were no empty taxis any where and we needed to be at the bus station; two staff members came outside to help us flag down an empty taxi to get us off on time. My husband and I so enjoyed our three night stay here over Easter. Everything was superb, and I can't recommend it enough. We had dinner in the hotel on the first night, and the food and service were so good, we weren't tempted to have dinner anywhere else. Choose a table in the conservatory, which is like dining in a jewel box. I highly recommend the strawberry "carpaccio" served with basil ice cream. Beautiful, clever and very tasty!
