Beautiful surroundings, and right next to the path that leads to the monkey park. We very much enjoyed the kaiseki dinner and Japanese breakfast. They were happy to explain what everything was and how to eat it, since a number of the dishes were unfamiliar to us (in particular with the breakfast). The public onsen is nice, and in addition to the indoor pool, has a small but pretty outdoor area. The staff anticipate everything, and somehow manage to be extremely helpful while leaving you on your...
Beautiful 5-star hotel with excellent staff and comfortable rooms. The breakfast buffet was outstanding--definitely worth the money! Location is perfect--right outside of Nagano station (5 mins from train to hotel lobby). I'll stay here again for sure!
An unforgettable experience with my son who is 9 we enjoyed the private onsen with 2 separate baths we bathed under the stars which was perfect. The staff was incredibly accommodating attentive and so SWEET , the Japanese chocolate covered pecans are dreamy definitely grab a box or 2!
Very enjoyable experience with polite staff in kimono. If one would like to immerse themselves in Japanese tradition with tatami floors, sleeping on futon, and taking a traditional bath (onsen)/dress in yukata provided by the hotel, then this is the hotel for you.
The Dormy Inn in Nagano was an excellent value! The location is first rate - less than 10 minutes walking from Nagano Station. The Inn has wonderful amenities - an indoor/outdoor onsen. After onsen free ice cream snacks. A very tasty breakfast including Japanese and western cuisine - the quality and variety was great and the price was reasonable. They also have chilled apple juice during the day and made to order ramen in the evening. If you miss the ramen, they will give you a...
This was our first stay in a traditional Japanese ryoken and we had a great stay. The welcome was fantastic with a tour round the hotel and tea served in our room. We also enjoyed the spa and the Japanese breakfast.
Really nice facility. Staff very helpful. Good breakfast.
Sirens woke me up a few times during the night. Must be near an emergency services station. If you're a light sleeper you may want to bring some earplugs.
The hotel is clean and staff were polite with us. They kept our luggage after we did check out and there was room cleaning every day. A good perk is the free coffee from a machine in the lobby during the morning. The location is great, very close to the train station and multiple restaurants. The hotel has an old look though and there’s just one elevator for all the floors making it busy during check-out hours. The internet sometimes failed us and there were no free tv channels.
