We’d found the lodging by chance as we were driving across the island. The owner met us in front of the home at 10pm, all smiles, and in the room we found every conceivable amenity from ear plugs to toiletries. Clean and delightful. The breakfast the next morning was set up for the two of us with place settings, fruit, a cake that was a local specialty, meats, cookies, and she even made us farm fresh eggs. Amazing! A nice surprise after a long journey.
Polizzi Generosa, where the B&B is located, is a small town, 90 km away from Palermo, in a medieval city on the top of one of the hills. If you want to experience real Sicily, this is the place to go. It is up in the mountains and the GPS is confused, so better set it up for Piazza dei Medici than for the actual hotel address. We did not have that wisdom and ended up in a street that was too narrow for our car. It costed us some serious scratches, but the locals were all trying to help us...
Excellent! Very good location. Room nice with a balcony. Breakfast was freshly prepared, plentiful and delicious. Parking was convenient and easy. Only drawback was that the room was upstairs with no hand rail. They do have rooms downstairs. The town is beautiful, walkable and a very nice pedestrian shopping, restaurants and bars.
If you are looking for an authentic rustic experience in the Madonie area, this is the place. It is to the Petralie, Castelbuono and the Madonie mountains and is therefore a great base for exploring. This is not an updated renovated villa, but it is a wonderful and comfortable and charming villa none the less. Yes, the rooms are air conditioned and there is a nice pool, but we loved the various wall papers and old furniture and the totally informal but terrific staff. We arrived about 2 pm...
We had an amazing experience at Casale Margherita. Very easy to get in touch with via WhatsApp, scheduled taxi rides for us to surrounding areas for a fee. The gentlemen that drove us to a surrounding city and again to the bus station the next day was so wonderful, brought us for a traditional Sicilian coffee and cannoli nearby. The pool was incredible. Would highly recommend.
We arrived here after a 9 day Trafalgar tour of Sicily. I can honestly say that this hotel was the best hotel of the six we stayed at during our trip! It is exceptional by Italian as well as American standards. Modern, clean & with a wonderful staff.
A fantastic location, wonderful reception, incredible restarant. A perfect getaway spot for romantics, foodies, wine lovers, and active adults. Do a wine tasting, hike to the incredible view and be sure to enjoy dinner. The rabbit pasta is amazing. This is one of my top destinations in Sicily.
Nestled in the foothills near a town called Reitano, this lovely place offers a taste of what living in Sicily is like. Amazing fresh food, the sounds of the country and smells of the Sicilian countryside. Giacomo, his wife and children are wonderful sweet people. His wife cooks food like my mother did back home who was from this part of Sicily. Make sure you get good directions for your drive and arrival procedures for entering the gated property. Loved it and will be back.
The property is even cuter in real life than in photos. The breakfast was great and having ability to hang out by the pool, as well as to do laundry was super beneficial. The facility manager is the most helpful human i have encountered in my personal or professional life. The only thing to be aware of is that the property is on a largehill/small mountain. It is steep enough that I couldn't wear leather soled shoes going up or down and had to get barefoot. There is a shuttle but we were not...
We arrived a bit earlier than expected but Nino was able to greet us within about 15 mins and allowed us entry onto the property where we could park and check in. The room was a bit small but this is a classic B&B so we had use of the entire kitchen and property; found ourselves later in the evening able to have a private dinner overlooking a gorgeous sunset from their veranda. The views at this property are stunning as is the entire town.
You can't walk to anything from this hotel (and it's...
Exceptional stay in historic Cefalù!
The location in the heart of the historic downtown is unbeatable. The property is spotlessly clean and remarkably well-maintained throughout. On hot summer days, the air conditioning works perfectly to keep the room cool and comfortable. Best of all, the ocean views are absolutely stunning. Highly recommended!
We absolutely loved staying here! Carmelo was a wonderful host and Cettina made sure we had anything we needed. It was immaculate. We would stay here again. We felt like family here. Our unit was very spacious. I would recommend to everyone that we know. Thank you!!
