This was my first time in Italy and first time in Europe in 24 years. I chose this place because of the location not being close to the city and the great amenities. Located in a nice little town of 122 people with its own church next door, this hotel was perfect.

The staff was very welcoming. The owner even took us to the train station when he saw us out on the street looking at our Google Maps for walking directions. 10-12 minutes walk from the train station. (5 if you jog about halfway!) Great breakfast prepared for us. I would highly recommend staying there. (Download an offline translator because they didn't speak much English.)
Assisi is a wonderful medieval town, and Hotel Pax is a cozy, friendly, and well-run place to stay there. My girlfriend and I were the only guests on our first night there, and the owner stayed late to check us in, as we had a bit of trouble getting there on the bus system. She was extremely friendly and helpful, and she told us some of the town's and hotel's history as we ate breakfast. We stayed for two nights, and the owner helped us find the major attractions and arranged for our cab back...
