Dalhousie Castle is the ideal place if you're looking to stay in a castle in the Edinburgh area. It's about a 20 minute taxi ride from the city center which is just far enough to be out in the peaceful Scottish countryside. The castle itself is absolutely beautiful, and sits on grounds that are equally so, with archery, falconry, and several great walking paths. When we arrived near the end of time the kitchen was open, they arranged for our bags to be brought to our room and brought us directly to a table in the bar so we got to order in time. The concierge ordered a taxi for our early morning departure the next day and was very helpful. Everyone we met was nice. The room was clean and had a nice shower. Wish we stayed here longer.

A very nice place to stay in Peebles, right in the middle of the town. Very convenient to explore the town. Excellent restaurant for breakfast and dinner. Friendly staff. Free parking, which is nice. But note: there is a steep hill to climb with luggage from the car park to the hotel lobby.

Great hotel. Very popular with families. Bed was comfortable enough. House keeping of room was thorough. Breakfast was well run. Easy stroll into the heart of Peebles town. Amazing views across the hills. Very kind staff.

Driving up to the hotel I instantly fell in love with this place. The grounds are beautiful and the staff is wonderful. We were arriving late and the hotel arranged for us to have sandwiches waiting which was perfect. Peebles is adorable town nearby and recommend a visit. I highly recommend this beautiful hotel!

Nice property with friendly helpful staff

Nice people, nice breakfast - just nice! Not a central location - about a 20 minute walk to the Royal Mile - but we prefer the quiet to the noise of the more touristy areas and it's a nice walk. Definitely recommend.

Everything was great. Enjoyed the pool

Convenient location allowed us to walk to all the attractions, shops, and endless dining options. The staff was friendly, the bartender was a super hard worker and great at his job, and the rooms were clean. The hotel locks the gate at night so you have to use your key to get in, which is a nice feature for safety. If you are a light sleeper, it might be too noisy for you. Great location, excellent hotel, and friendly service.

The space was unuque and beautiful. Definite old world charm. The staff was helpful with suggestions, and friendly. The common spaces were very nice. I would say the room is good for sleeping, but just be aware they are very tiny rooms. It was exactly what we needed, but if I wanted to stay at a place where I'd be in my room a lot I would probably choose something else. But since my room was just for sleeping I would stay here again because I liked all the other spaces.

When searching for a hotel to stay, what attracted me to the Bonham Hotel was the style and look presented in the overview. This did not disappoint and I absolutely loved the victorian feel and how this hotel was so wonderfully put together. The staff was beyond amazing and so nice to me with questions, assistance, and general feedback about the hotel history and suggestions on great places to visit around town. Amazing mansion conversion into an event center and hotel. And there is even a lift to get you up to the top floor! Breakfast was generous and cooked to order. It was somewhat difficult for me to find using GPS. Needed to ask for help at the Tesco petrol station.
