Hotels in Wigan

We drove up to the hotel I had booked and my partner was immediately disappointed to have arrived at a Holiday Inn located in an office park, but by day 4 of our visit to the Wigan area to visit friends and family, we both appreciated how great a spot we had found for our stay. Food, staff, accommodation, grounds all excellent, a very pleasurable stay.

The staff was great and provided lots of assistance with getting transportation to Liverpool.

Came to England for a Protestant Pilgrimage. Stayed in beautiful Country Estate. Although St. Wilfred's was not on the official agenda, I found the Standish Parish Church to be a true hidden gem. Close enough to walk to from Hotel. The Physician on the Mayflower was from the Standish Area and from the Standish Family who built St. Wilfred's. Came to the realization that Standish residents would have gathered twice a day for morning and evening prayers to pray for their doctor that they sent...

Hotel was ok. Decent enough for the price. Staff were also ok. Check out day, we still had the ‘Do not Disturb’ sign on the door when the Housekeeper knocked. We were maximizing our time until checkout. Didn’t they see the sign by the door? Annoying. Not enough choices for dining in surrounding areas.

Amazing hotel with bags of character. Beautiful well maintained grounds. Customer focused staff who clearly understand the importance of excellent service.

The Manor still retains the features of the original building. The furnishings are rich in colour and beautifully coordinated. The staff go out of their way to be helpful and curtious. The standard of food both at breakfast and dinner was excellent. The room was quiet and the bed was very comfortable. I shall certainly be back!

First of all the property is incredible. Very well maintained manicured. Excellent for short walks to clear your head while working. We had arrived early and the staff accommodated in early check-in. Throughout the day, we were treated with fantastic hospitality, and great service.

Easy check in, clean rooms and a lovely location. Highly recommend.
