So if you are studying online reviews you may be asking yourself, what is the South of Mauritius like, how is the beach at this resort, how far from airport, what are the restaurants like, will I like 'the orange and green bright design' rooms. We had only a short stay at the hotel and wish that we had been able to stay longer! Such a lovely property and wonderful staff. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and the property is well maintained. Food was excellent. The pools are beautiful. Everything about our stay was perfect (other than it being too short!). The location is VERY convenient to airport, which was our main choice for a hotel since we had a 3am flight out in the morning.

Residence Les Bambous is on a little side street in Mahebourg, about a 5 minute ride from the new mall at Vallon Bo (close to the airport, but on the opposite side of the island from the capital and most of the resorts in the north). It is family owned, with a very welcoming and friendly atmosphere. It's not luxurious but it is very affordable, and comfortable, with a nice bed, hot water in the shower, and a ceiling fan to keep the room cool.
