I would absolutely recommend casa 1880 to anybody staying in La Paz. It was the perfect boutique hotel that had the best combination of a small and proper bed and breakfast and a very fancy luxury hotel. Ari and his staff are par excellence and went above and beyond, from great recommendations, to packing delicious picnic lunches for us on days we went on excursions, to just being so absolutely welcoming. The room was massive yet tasteful with all the 5 star hotel amenities one expects, and the...
This place is located very remotely at the end of a barely driveable one-lane dirt road, one hour from the nearest city (La Paz). It is truly in the middle of nowhere. Great for hiking, nature walks in the desert, horseback riding, snorkeling, fishing, and being alone on the beach. Nearest shopping is an hour away, except for a small gift shop at the resort. Built in 1948 and supposedly the first resort hotel in Baja California. Price is relatively high considering the facilities, but includes...
Leeann was a fantastic host. She is super laid back and easygoing. She had great recommendations for dinner and sightseeing. Our room was comfy and it was nice to have a small fridge and coffee maker in the room. Her property is amazing and in a good location. The rooftop deck was perfect for sunset watching with wine and cheese. The breakfasts were plentiful and delicious. Leeann even accommodated our dietary restriction. She's running a licenced business, and we would definitely return.
We only stayed here one night, was a last minute getaway. The place was exactly what we needed and wanted after a stressful week. We really liked the quiet time when they turn all the lights out and you can relax in the pool and enjoy the stars. We had a few well made alcoholic beverages and the food from the restaurant was delicious.
Great place to stay very comfortable very friendly staff in a great location ,,,, they need to change bartender I've never seen anybody take 15 minutes to make one drink but other than that had a great experience
Perfect location across from the museum square. Beautiful property and huge room. Staff super nice and very responsive. A little loud but that’s to be expected in La Paz.
Excellent choice on the Malecón center! Staff was very friendly and welcoming. Beautiful courtyard and birds singing to wake us up every morning. Great stay and we will return.

It is walking distance from the Malecon where you can find much of the dining and night life of La Paz and just one block from Oxxo and Pemex for easy access to convinces and gas. If you have a car it is extremely easy to get to Balandra and Tecolote beaches. The included breakfast is also a great perk, and make sure to wake up early enough to get the bread of the day.
