We drove from Munich, Germany for a wedding to Lago Maggiore. Looking for hotels in Stresa, we found out that the prices where not very fair and quite expensive for something nice. Nice old style hotel with proper lobby, right across from lakefront promenade. Best value found! Very friendly staff, free gated parking! Just our front is quiet lawn area with bars and restaurants putting their chairs out at night. Loved it.
My wife and I first visited Grand Hotel Dino several years ago on a tour, and the beautiful images remained with us. We decided to return this July and it was everything we remembered and much more. The hotel is spectacular and the scenery is as well. Hopefully on our next trip up north we will bring our entire family including our grandchildren. We know that they, too, will just love it.
Parking was helpful, the town is very walkable and has excellent food. View from the hotel was astoundingly beautiful. There is a patio on the top floor too.
Great place to stay in Stresa. It's excellent but don't expect it to be like the Ritz. Within town center and 5mins walk to the ferry landing. However, it's a 15mins walk to the train station on cobblestone roads so pulling the suitcase was not as smooth. The A/C worked nicely and the bed was comfortable. Staff were very nice and welcoming. Enough time to hop on the ferry and visit other towns along Lake Maggiore.
We stayed at the Astroria 5 years ago and likes it so much we came back. The hotel has old school charm while providing fantastic service. The staff are wonderful. The hotel has a beautiful view of the lake and it is a 5 minute walk to the hiatpric center, where you can find restaurants and shops. It is also a perfect place to take day trips. It is an easy 1.5 hours drive.
We looked all over the area for the best place to stay within our budget. There are some very fancy high-end hotels that are available in Stresa and Baveno, but I have to say that we lucked out when we selected this one. Very nice hotel on the Lago Maggiore in Verbania! Staff was super kind to find the right room for my mother that is 82 and has mobility issues ! The area is very nice calm with many restaurants and cafe around .
