Lærdal Hotel
8/10 Good
"I was a bit hesitant about the Laerdal Hotel because the reviews weren’t great, but I was pleasantly surprised. The room was perfectly fine, with a beautiful view of the lake, and it was incredibly quiet outside. The walls were thin, so you could sometimes hear the neighbours, but with earplugs it wasn’t an issue. Breakfast was alright, nothing special, but the buffet dinner was excellent, with a wide choice of fish, meats, and fresh salads. Definitely a positive stay."
Lindstrøm Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"We stayed in the old building, a ‘deluxe double’ room, which back up to the mountain, and had the mountain view. The room has simple furnishings, but was comfortable, modern and spacious. We were on the second floor - no elevator - so be prepared to carry luggage up a curved staircase, or check in advance what floor you are going to be on. The old hotel section is 2-story. Love the heated bathroom floor! Bathtub shower has a half screen, so water gets on the floor, but water pressure and temperature are very good! Room stays nice and warm and windows can be opened for fresh air. Plenty of natural light, and blackout curtains. Breakfast has everything, made-to-order scrambled eggs (delicious). Staff are super-friendly and kind, everything is clean and well managed. Front desk staff are great, friendly and make you feel very welcome. Plenty of parking onsite. Food mart 50m away - very convenient. Staying in Lærdal is nice a quiet, quaint little town and great for walking around, enjoying the scenery and charming old houses that have been restored (mostly) and you can see there is pride in ownership. Makes you feel nostalgic for a simpler time. But being in Lærdal is not without its complications, that a lot of activities are closer to Aurland and Flam so we were going back and forth through the 24km tunnel each day. The tunnel is one of the safer/wider tunnels, it’s just a long 20mins without scenery. I am very happy we stayed at the Lindstrom hotel!"

"It was a lovely place, the rooms were clean and comfortable and the food at the restaurant was really good. I would have stayed longer if I had more time this trip."
Utladalen Camping

"The cabin was spacious and clean. The beds were comfortable. The showers had hot water and were close to our cabin."
