"If not for the train disruption, my stay at Duran Hostel would have been perfect! The small room was a perfect fit for a solo traveler. It takes 25 minutes to walk from the station to the hostel because it is uphill, and around 15 minutes to return to the station downhill; this was perfectly suitable for me as I enjoy walking. The town is beautiful with a warm, friendly neighborhood, and you can sit at LA SEDE to watch the clouds drift by while enjoying Spanish red wine. The hostel staff are helpful and friendly, and I would definitely recommend their single rooms to any solo traveler. I was pleasantly surprised to find a powerful shower and a bathtub. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. I have no complaints about the decor, as it is a hostel after all! However, the train disruption made my journey quite difficult. There were limited trains from Málaga Central to Álora, but I was aware of this before I made my booking and had planned well in advance. Unfortunately, the train terminated at Cártama, and I needed to take a replacement bus, which turned a half-hour journey into an hour. Even more unfortunately, the train to El Chorro was also cancelled, and the replacement bus departure time was too late for me to start my adventure at the Caminito del Rey. I want to take this opportunity to thank the Renfe staff; without their help, I don't think I could have completed my journey. Renfe even arranged a taxi to take me to El Chorro so that I wouldn't miss my adventu"

"The hotel is lovely and the owners are friendly and helpful. The pool is beautiful and a great place to relax. Breakfast was good quality. The hotel is walking distance from the station, and a good base for hiking and exploring Álora. Food is available in the evening and there is a bar service with a good selection of drinks. We enjoyed our stay and intend to return. Would highly recommend."

The location is perfect, right in the peaceful village of Tolox, nestled within the stunning Sierra de las Nieves Natural Park. It’s an ideal base for hiking, exploring the mountains, or simply unwinding in a quiet, scenic setting. One of the highlights is the atmosphere—calm, relaxing, and intimate. Whether you're coming back from a long hike or just enjoying a slow morning, it’s the kind of place that helps you truly disconnect. Highlights: Exceptional host hospitality Stylish, clean, and comfortable rooms Perfect location for hiking and nature Peaceful, authentic village setting Bottom line: A hidden gem in southern Spain. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting."

"The place is a must if you do Caminito Del Ray. The view is amazing and service was very good. The hotels rooms are cozy with 2 spaces. We got a small livingroom with TV and fridge. Then you take a narrow snail stairs to the bedroom and bathroom. Fun for one night, don't know if I would have liked it for more. Take note that the road to get there is in the mountains, so very narrow abut a lot of parking spot available. You can leave your car there to go to Caminito Del Ray by bus (2.5 euro for all bus during one day).You can also there by train from Seville. "
