"We arrived late and our room was ready, plenty of parking spaces and everything was clean "

Carpet was worn down to bare floor, aircon unit was held together with tape, wallpaper was peeling off all over the place and the temp control panel was like a floodlight that you couldn’t switch off. I’m sure there are some decent rooms, the hotel has some good ratings so must be ok in general but there are obviously rooms in desperate need of a refurb. "

"Pleasent breakfast, good location with its car park - though its a tenner per day - rooms feal very tired, could do with a freshen up. Specially the carpets and the bathrooms. "

"Room seemed liked it was recently refurbished, so was in good condition, comfortable bed, lovely bathroom. Not all areas of the hotel were in such a good condition. Our dinner in the Bar and Grill was not a good experience, with no vegan options, poor quality food, mistakes with our order, and such a long wait for our food that we were offered a free round of drinks from the bar, I wouldn't eat there again if I lived locally! There wasn't enough floor staff on duty for a very busy Saturday evening. The breakfast was fine though. Overall an ok stay, but Village Hotels would not be on my list of hotels to visit again"
