The location of this hotel is INCREDIBLE with views of the fjord and waterfalls! Our room was lovely, spacious and clean with a kitchen and couch. The complimentary breakfast was plentiful and delicious, especially the waffles. It was so nice to stay overnight in Gudvangen when there weren’t crowds there - the evening was peaceful on the fjord and in the morning we were able to do Viking Village when it first opened (axe throwing & archery with no line!!!) before all the tour buses and boat got...
Yes the hotel is of an era. If you need a television in such a magical location then you were missing the point in my opinion. Yes it was a bit pricey. More than I have ever spent on a hotel room however I will never forget the experience go back and I would happily go back. It became the highlight of a weeklong trip to Norway. Walking the grounds and admiring the woods and the view is some thing I will never forget
Great stay at Hotel Aurland! The hotel is quaint and charming, with a fantastic walkable location close to everything we wanted to see.
