The staff was amazing at this property. They were kind and helpful. They worked together well as a team and worked hard to truly make us feel welcome. The food was so good!! The room was really bright and the view was phenomenal. I recommend taking the water taxi from Picton, but the drive was scenic. Thank you Punga Cove for a memorable stay.
We stayed two nights. It is remote and only reached by 20 min water taxi or hiking. It is a lovely, picturesque setting in Queen Charlotte Track. People are very friendly and helpful, especially Bo at the desk. There are lots of trails to walk around with lots of unusual and comical sculptures. Kayaks and paddle boards are free to use. Lovely spacious motel in the middle of Picton, conveniently located to everything including the ferry terminal. The staff were very helpful and after-hours check in was well organized. This is the perfect place to stay the night before catching the ferry to the North Island, especially if you need to park a car!
Th⅚is is a gem of a little apartment hotel. The room was spotless clean, large and well-appointed. The balcony has a breathtaking view of the harbor and waterfront. The location is convenient- a short walk from the high street. All of the necessities are within easy. I had such a nice stay. Highly recommend!
This motel is quite close to the Picton Ferry Terminal, maybe about 2 minutes by car. One would think that the traffic must be terrible but it is not the case. The street is quiet and another 2 minutes or so to the waterfront area where there are a lot of restaurants. There are also 2 supermarkets close by.
The room is a good size, with a kitchenette, equipped with hobs and microwave and toaster. Good supply of tea and coffee.

Spent three nights in the James cook suite. Spacious, comfortable, two bathrooms. Nice assortment of breakfast options for in room prep. Michelle was very helpful with luggage handling and printing travel documents for us.
Very cute, basic lodging. Room was nicely laid out, with a walkout to the patio. It's super quiet, as is most of Picton, especially in early May as winter approaches. Easy walk to restaurants and sites. Loved my stay and would definitely recommend!
