The bedroom and bathroom were lovely, the breakfasts amazing, the staff always happy to help and the location just off the A590 was perfect for exploring the whole Lake District. My only rejoinder was that the stairs to the rooms are a little challenging for someone like me who is mobility impaired. Additional banisters and/or handles would greatly help but I managed overall and we were very happy with our stay. Evening meals were exceptional too. This was an excellent place to stay, with historic ironworks in front, whitewater in behind, and a real steam-engine train passing by that looked like something out of a story book. There are two flights of 17 steps each, for a total of 34 steps to get to the flat, and then 14 more inside the cottage to get to the bedroom. The unit was immaculate when we arrived, and well-stocked with essentials, except we could not find bedding for the pull-out bed in the main living area. The grounds were...
