Leuven City Center
Leuven City Center lets you step into a living history book with its Gothic Town Hall and medieval cobblestone streets. Students from one of Europe's oldest universities buzz through ancient squares while church bells echo across centuries. St. Peter's Church towers majestically above, while the peaceful Groot Begijnhof offers a quiet retreat from the energetic academic atmosphere. The compact layout makes exploring on foot a breeze, with traditional brown cafés serving local Stella Artois beer just steps from authentic Flemish restaurants. Most attractions sit within a 10-minute walk, and frequent buses connect to Brussels in just 30 minutes. Boutique hotels in converted historic buildings provide the perfect base for your Flemish adventure.

Heverlee
Heverlee blends academic energy with peaceful green spaces, creating a unique Belgian escape. KU Leuven's campus brings scholarly vibes while Arenberg Castle's neo-Gothic towers and manicured grounds offer Instagram-worthy backdrops. Students zip around on bikes between tree-lined streets and botanical gardens, giving you that authentic college-town feel without tourist crowds. Student-friendly cafés serve affordable Belgian comfort food that won't break your budget. Most visitors stay in modest B&Bs run by friendly locals since hotels are limited. De Lijn buses connect you to downtown Leuven in just 15 minutes, but walking or renting a bike is how locals roll.

Kessel-Lo
Kessel-Lo offers a peaceful retreat from Leuven's bustle while showcasing everyday Belgian suburban life. The Provincial Domain park steals the show with lakes, trails, and recreational areas where you can stretch your legs or simply breathe in the fresh air. Historic Vlierbeek Abbey adds a touch of old-world charm, while tree-lined streets with red-brick homes create a quintessentially Flemish atmosphere. Buses connect you to Leuven's center in just 15-20 minutes, making day trips a breeze. Local cafés serve traditional Flemish dishes without the tourist markup. The neighborhood winds down early, perfect for travelers who appreciate quiet evenings and authentic experiences over nightlife.
Hertogensite
Leuven's Hertogensite neighborhood has a host of places to visit such as Kruidtuin Botanical Garden and Dyle.

Blauwput
Blauwput combines commuter convenience with authentic Belgian charm, making it a strategic base for travelers. The modern Leuven Central Railway Station anchors this neighborhood, where you'll find tree-lined streets, local bakeries, and affordable cafés catering to students and locals. Kessel-Lo Provincial Park offers a nearby green escape, while the university's buzz keeps the area feeling youthful. Dining options range from quick sandwich shops to cozy spots serving Belgian comfort food at wallet-friendly prices. Small guesthouses and practical hotels near the station provide convenient accommodation without the tourist markup. With trains whisking you to Brussels in just 30 minutes and easy walking access to Leuven's center, Blauwput gives you the best of both worlds.

The Standard Brussels
"I had a lovely stay at The Standard Hotel Brussels. The hotel itself is beautiful, modern and stylish, with a really comfortable room and a great overall atmosphere. The location is also very convenient, as it’s just a short walk from Brussels-North (Gare du Nord), making it particularly easy to get to and from the hotel. A special mention has to go to Djo, who was absolutely superb. From the moment I arrived, he was incredibly helpful and attentive. He kindly carried my suitcase to and from the taxi and went above and beyond to make sure I was looked after. When I arrived, reception was rather slow as they were training another member of staff, but Djo noticed this and made sure the reception team tended to me promptly. His attentiveness and willingness to help genuinely made a difference to my experience. There were a couple of small areas that could be improved. Unfortunately, the mini fridge in my room wasn’t stocked, and I was only provided with one bottle of water. Given the standard of the hotel, I would have expected the fridge to be stocked or, at the very least, a little more complimentary water to be provided. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay. The hotel is beautiful, modern and comfortable, the location is excellent, and the service from Djo was a particular highlight. He is a real asset to the hotel and deserves recognition for the way he looked after me."
Radisson Collection Grand Place Brussels
"Phenomenal staff that were very helpful and attentive. The coffee in room was excellent. The decor was somewhat dark. There were technical issues with my door lock battery dying and the AC emitting a high pitch noise."
Sheraton Brussels Airport Hotel
"très proche de l'aéroport, calme. La ventilation/climatisation pas très efficace toutefois"
Warwick Brussels Grand-Place
"The hotel and the staff were lovely. We were able to check in 3 hours early and park our car, which was lovely. The 4th floor corner room was a great size with many large windows opening to the street. We went to the rooftop bar with lovely views, even with the rain!"
Hotel Indigo Brussels - City by IHG
"This hotel is really stylish and clean. I stayed in a premium room for 3 with my two teenagers and it was nice and big and nicely decorated. It was a nice base for the three nights. The air con is great and the WiFi was brilliant. I have dropped a star because: • The location is not great, I didn't realise at the time of booking, but the north area is a bit dodgy. From reading on, they have a bit of a problem with drugs and illegal immigrants in the area, so much that the police have admitted that they can't police it. My recommendation is to get a cab to the hotel and not to use Brussels Nord for any journeys if you have children with you. • The staff I dealt with were a bit... Flat... I don't know how else to describe it. Also, one person said we would be charged city tax at the end of our stay, but then I noticed payments going on my card at 1/2pm every day. When I asked, they said it was city tax. Then, they tried to charge me again when I left! • The garden bar wasn't open, and the main bar was not a nice place to sit in the day, especially with children (clean and nice decor, but really dark) Another tip, the fridge is a bit useless, so don't expect to get cold drinks from it."
Aris Grand-Place Hotel
"Un superbe hôtel ! Les gens à l’accueil étaient extrêmement serviables et sympathiques. La chambre était au 5 ieme , la vue était incroyable. L’emplacement est optimal, à deux pas de la cathédrale et de la Grande Place et directement au coeur des restaurants et boutiques."
