Amazing resort in a beautifully stunning country. The staff was by far my favorite part about staying here. All were local Fijians and they were some of the nicest people my now fiance and I have met at a resort. They actually helped me plan popping the big question to my fiance :)
The pictures of the hotel you see on the web do not do it justice at all. The room was large and beautiful with tons of windows / glass doors opening out to your terrace where you could see the ocean and islands. The food was wonderful and the staff treated you like you were the only guests there and knew you by name. They went out of their way for us. I would love to go back someday. It was paradise.
I normally don't post reviews but Matangi Island hit it out of the park! The staff took care of transfers from the airport (by car and boat) before we arrived. This resort is definitely off the beaten path. It is absolutely gorgeous! Everything was picturesque. From the white sand beaches to the perfectly clear blue water. The room was small, but very clean and comfortable. I would recommend taking a portable fan for additional air flow at night during the summer. The staff was overly gracious! The staff were extremely kind, and welcomed us, and mase us feel like family. They learned each of our names (family of 5). We want to return someday. We love tge garden island resort and the people there.
The employees were great and treated us very well. An air con did not work and they switched us to another room and it was great. They care about their people. The tours were very well done and we had a lot of fun. I think the price for the tours were reasonable.
