Learn more about Birmingham
Upscale boutiques and art galleries line the streets of this refined Detroit suburb, where historic buildings house shops that would make credit cards weep with joy. The downtown area buzzes with well-dressed locals sipping artisanal coffee between shopping expeditions. Nearby Cranbrook Art Museum showcases contemporary works in a setting that rivals the art itself. The lush gardens at Cranbrook House offer a peaceful retreat from retail therapy. Union Lake and Baypoint Beach provide natural escapes when the Michigan summer heats up. Somerset Collection draws serious shoppers from across the region, while Lyudviga Couture caters to those with champagne tastes. Even the park benches seem more elegant here, perfectly positioned for people-watching along the Woodward Corridor.

Hotel Indigo Detroit Downtown by IHG
"Great location. Easy walking distance to Riverwalk, Stadiums, and other downtown activities. Room was nice but a bit small compared to other downtown hotels I've stayed at."
MGM Grand Detroit
"Everything was great, rooms were very nice"
The Siren Hotel, an Ash Hotel
"Very interesting hotel decor. There is no pool or hot tub but there was lot to do around the hotel we didn't really need it."
MotorCity Casino Hotel
"Kinda expensive but very nice rooms, quiet. Nice casino and things in the casino to do. But not walk able to downtown. Free parking"
Fort Pontchartrain Detroit, a Wyndham Hotel
"Staff was very helpful. One thing I would like to tell you about. We spent one night coming from a smaller town. Not use to double glass doors to the entrance that required a key card to enter after a certain time. Security saw my friend open second set of doors(which were opened slightly) with her hands and he came out just chewing us out like no other (apparently he watches people on a camera in the hotel) and told us if we break the door we have to pay for it. He was extremely rude. We asked him to show us what to do and his reply was “figure it out”. We apologized but he was still super rude to us. So my suggestion is to put a notice on the door that explains that after a certain time of the evening that your key card is required to activate the door to open. Some people do dumb things because we are not use to big city things. He told us we would have to pay for damages if the door is broken by us. I would also like to point out that iF the door would have broke that would be the hotels responsibility to repair not ours. That’s what insurance is for! Now if we intentionally broke the door I could understand. This was a MISTAKE on our part. The door was not damaged FYI."
Hollywood Casino at Greektown
"Everything was great except no trash can in our room"
Hotel Houze Detroit Downtown
"Really enjoyed my two nights at this hotel. The efficiency rooms allowed me to make my own meals, if I wanted to. It was nice to have the option. Made ample use of the coffee maker, microwave, and fridge. Rooms were cleaned and the couple of issues I had (which were nothing major) were addressed very quickly by the staff. I'd gladly stay again."
Trumbull and Porter Hotel
"Was a very nice vibe only issue was the shower set up. Not a fan of no curtain. Overall great experience for a solo travel"
