Between two shimmering lakes sits a town where 'mushroom houses' sprout from the landscape like fairy tale dwellings. Sail crystal-clear waters or cast a line for the legendary whitefish that appears on every local menu. The Pine River bisects downtown, where art galleries showcase local talent and waterfront restaurants serve the day's catch. Take the ferry to Beaver Island for a day trip that feels like stepping back in time. Golf enthusiasts can tee off at Belvedere or Dunmaglas, both offering views that distract from even the worst slice. Summer brings beach-goers to Lake Charlevoix Depot Beach, while autumn paints the surrounding forests in impossible colors. Ask locals about their favorite sunset spot - they'll share, but make you promise not to tell anyone else.
Everything about our stay at the Belvedere was fabulous. The location is close to town while quiet and private, the bed, pillows and bedding were high quality, and super comfortable. The Belvedere home was clean, cozy and well appointed. Our host, Adrianne’s, breakfast was the over the top delicious and at the same time very healthy, i wholeheartedly recommend you check it out for yourself!!
I travel a LOT. This hotel was impeccable. The staff is professional, the room was clean and well stocked and parking is easy. I liked being able to walk to dinner. The only downside was the limited dining options when I arrived (although it was between lunch and dinner). I will definitely be back! Hint- it’s a botiquín hotel so book directly their website- you can request a room upgrade when you arrive if available!
My stay was amazing? Amber went above and above to make sure I was comfortable and had everything that I would need for my stay. The rooms are spacious, the home is warm and inviting, there is no feeling of awkwardness, you actually feel like you are visiting a family member. The home and rooms are extremely clean and comfortable with all accessories that you would need at hand. The location is literally with in 2 walking "strolls" to downtown and marina where all the action is. I will...
We were able to check in early as we had plans before check-in time. Everyone we encountered was very professional and polite. There was a great breakfast too!
I wanted to introduce a guest of mine to Michigan. The Crooked River Lodge was the perfect place to do this.
Situated on the Crooked River, the Lodge had nearby trails, a great indoor pool and jacuzzi, as well as a roaring fire in the fireplace and an outdoor fire pit as well.
Very comfortable with nearby restaurants serving fresh perch and whitefish from Lake Michigan. I would definitely return for another visit.

The Best Western of Harbor Springs is AMAZING! The staff is friendly and will ensure you have everything you need for your stay and to make you comfortable. The breakfast is hearty with LOTS of choices to get you going for your fun filled day in northern Michigan. The hotel is located just minutes away from downtown Harbor Springs and Petoskey. Excellent place. ...
This place was amazing! The attention to detail at this place is immaculate! The hotel keeps it’s history and charm with the old feel, but is a modern hotel with everything you would need. We had an issue with our room that they were unable to fix at the time, so they gave us a new, nicer room without hesitation. The breakfast ambiance was relaxing and made you feel special. Coffee and water was refilled consistently. Food was great, views were great, outside patio was beautiful and peaceful....
We have known about Stafford's Bay View Inn from our trips "up north" over the 30 years but never stayed there. That was our mistake before but never again.
The staff was friendly, charming and very accommodating. Our room was very spacious and comfortable. The view of the bay was delightful and allowed us to enjoy the sunset and sunrise. We enjoyed the hotel library and the comfy leather chairs to catch up on some reading. Not having TVs in the rooms actually turned out to be a wonderful...
We loved our stay here. The innkeepers were super nice and helpful, and the room was not only immaculate but beautiful! We highly recommend staying here!
We loved the location, cleanliness and comfort. I would suggest putting a small table or chair in the bathroom to put clothes etc on because the sinks are small and there’s no place to lay anything.
It is a 5 star because it was the perfect stay at a historic inn. The rooms and inn are over 100 years old so the mondern comforts are lacking. Minimual plug and small shower. However, it was quaint, the owners and staff were very pleasant, there is plenty of space to relax on the large patio, nice Terrace or in the Lobby. It was easy to imagine you were in a different time and place. If you want character - I highly recommend Petosky's Terrace Inn. Finally, the food at the 1911...
