I believe this hotel is under new owners and they are very kind. This hotel was just what we needed for a one night stay in Lake Placid. You can walk to town or you could drive. What I liked best about this stay was the access to Mirror Lake. They have kayaks, canoes, and paddle boards for guests to use as they'd like. They have Adirondack chairs to relax on on the lake too. First visit/stay at this hotel. It may have been a “soft opening” but our experience was outstanding. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Welcomed us as we arrived and helped us with our bags. Room was very spacious and comfortable. Adjacent Restaurant (Redneck) was also excellent. Variety in the menu and all dishes were homemade. Exceptional experience. Highly recommended when visiting Lake Placid.
