"This trip just keeps getting better and better! This is NOT a hotel. It is more a resort guest house. Complete luxury with a setting in the hill/mountains of the Douro valley that is right out of movie setting.
Friendly helpful staff always eager to help. The room was luxurious, the included breakfast was just out of this world. Off season prices made this incredible place even better! The only reason I gave it 5 starts was because 6-7-8 were not available!"

"The hotel was very nice and the staff were excellent. It is a smaller hotel in a rural type town and you got that small town care from the staff. They provided us with a triple room so we could have a double bed and helped make our stay very comfortable. The breakfast was very good with fresh fried eggs and a good selection of breads and other items. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a clean comfortable room in a smaller setting. "

"The Quinta da Moita is out of the way of the Douro Valley but well worth the detour. I stayed there 3 nights on a solo trip. The owners are fantastic, very sweet. The place is perfect for quiet respite, clean rooms, comfortable beds, great breakfast! I recommend to anyone for solo stay or couple gateaway! Their wines are great too!
Just make sure to have food for dinner if you want to relax for the evening as everything is pretty far. But the drive is gorgeous and fun!
