This five-star stone hotel is a true gem. The manicured gardens are stunning — every corner immaculately kept, perfect for peaceful morning walks. But what truly elevated our stay was the staff: warm, professional, and attentive at every turn. The management clearly sets a high standard, and it shows in the seamless, thoughtful service throughout — from check-in to housekeeping to dining. A beautiful property backed by a team that genuinely cares. Highly recommend! Management should be proud!

Our two-night stay at Paço de Calheiros was absolutely wonderful. We were met in the courtyard by Francisco, the Count Calheiros. He showed us to our room while giving us a quick rundown of the property and invited us to refreshments on the patio before dinner. He joined us and four other guests at dinner during which he provided an interesting history of the century’s old estate/vineyard and the Calheiros family. Wonderful team. Great food. Big rooms. If you are in the Camino they will even pick you up from nearby routes. Note they are creasing this lovely eco farm so some areas are a work in progress. The owner is so special. Ask her about what she led in Porto before she and her family began creating their dream Ecopeneda. - impressive was in Porto their Big nature gardens … Great hiking and exploring lovely towns. I highly recommend stopping here if you are on the Camino and want to stop in Caminha or Seixas. The private rooms are small but very nice. I had a view of the beautiful cathedral in town right outside my window. There is a beautiful view of the Minho River from the deck outside. The shared bathroom is very clean and the shared common room was large (as well as the kitchen). Patricia who runs it is also very kind and helpful. Definitely a 5 star stay!
