The place has a beautiful view and the swimming pool is super for the hot weather. The breakfast is not bad. The only problem is that there is no AC, only ceiling fans, and rooms can get hot. You can open the balcony doors but depending on the season there are many mosquitos that won't let you sleep. Besides, the wifi is not very good.
The Ecolodge Don Felix was a comfortable place to stay while touring in Quillabamba. It’s set in a beautiful spot by the river that is wonderful to listen to through the night. We enjoyed the pool and watching the chickens roaming the site during our stay.
After reading reviews of Aguas Calientes in general, I was leery of the accommodations available. This was so inaccurate! The town is much better than what I read, and this hotel was the best one yet! (Better than Cuzco, Lima, and Ollantaytambo) The bed was bigger than my king at home. That alone made me smile when I walked in. I highly recommend this hotel. We stayed for three nights and loved it. It actually felt like a vacation.

This hotel was absolutely amazing. We walked in dirty and dusty from 4 days on the Inka trail and they immediately warmly welcomed us with refreshments and comfortable seating as they checked us in from their lobby couches instead of standing at the counter! The hotel was a nice welcoming space. It is convenient to the train station for those who are going to Machu Picchu. The train does run near the hotel, so you will hear it three or more times over night so if you’re a light sleeper you may want to note this. This was the second place we stayed in Aguas Caliente and the town a very active town so you can expect some noise no matter where you stay.
This place was magical! Within walking distance to the train station. It's a super small town and there are no cars. The hotel can arrange for someone to meet you at the train station and assist with carrying luggage.
There are a lot of shops and great restaurants so get lost and have fun! Note that some of the outdoor restaurants charge a 'service fee'. One of the restaurants we stumbled upon had horrible service and they slipped us that service fee so just ask.

I came to Aguas Calientes alone as a solo female traveler heading up to Machu Picchu, and this place was absolutely perfect in every way. Jaw dropping river views with the rushing water so loud, I was in heaven. I loved my morning coffee on the patio looking at the river. The service was impeccable and the breakfasts hearty - all I could have hoped for.
