We had an amazing experience at Villa Vager. We were greeted by a very friendly host who took our bags up to our second level room. The room was spacious and so cozy. We had to leave early in the am to get to the airport so they accommodated us with an early breakfast. They brought the food up to our private veranda and it was very delicious. We wish we could have spent another few nights, maybe next time!

If you are driving into town from the airport or Athens, follow the sign that says "beach", not the sign that says "center". I stayed two times in Pharae Palace for only one night the first time and two the second time. Both were pleasant stays. This is an upscale hotel. The location looks over the waterfront. This is a great value in the Kalamata area. The only downside is that you are not right on the beach, but that is more than offset by the fact that, unlike the beach front, it is quiet, every room has a spectacular view and you don't even have to cross the street to go to the beach. The staff are great. The beach front bar is great. Very good, classic Greek food as well. Can't go wrong with this place.
