Our random, spur-of the moment choice turned into a delightful visit thanks to the marvelous setting of Blaylock Mansion and the warm, friendly welcome of Louise and Dan, our hosts. The Hotel is right downtown Nelson close to shopping and restaurants. We had a small room but had everything we needed. The folks running the desk I believe were the owners and couldn't have been more helpful with trip planning for the area and beyond.
Luxurious! What a pleasant surprise to check-in and find such a wonderful high end boutique hotel in small Nelson. We loved the room, the restaurant and live music (quiet jazz guitarist), and the facility. The owner has sunk a lot of money into this hotel! The room was clean. The glass door into the bathroom looked cool but without a shade in the bathroom window it was hard to sleep as the light shined into the sleep space at all hours. The front desk was very nice and extremely helpful with recommendations for food and places to explore. The dry ribs at the pub were amazing.
This was our first trip to Nelson, and this hotel was a perfect landing spot to be able to enjoy the area properly! There’s a mountain shuttle pickup directly in front of the hotel, and restaurants, bars, and shopping are all within easy walking distance. The staff was helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable about the area; always available to answer our questions. I’d definitely stay here again!
